About Us

Who We Are

Founded in 2024, The Scottish Venison Company is a collaboration between harvesting professionals who manage delicate ecosystems in some of Scotland’s most rural areas and butchery specialists.

Our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices means that every cut of venison we offer comes from wild, free-roaming deer, harvested with care and respect in the wilds of the Scottish countryside.

We prepare all our finished venison products in our purpose-built butchery in Aberdeenshire, where our butchery team has over 30 years of experience in working with Scottish wild venison and skills have been passed down over three generations.

Our Values

Our unique approach focuses on sustainability and ethics, as well as taste.  The meat is naturally free from chemicals and has numerous documented health benefits, as well as being a pure source of lean protein.  The Scottish wild deer herd grazes on a natural diet of grasses, acorns, chestnuts, tree shoots and berries, which contributes to the meat’s superior taste.

We harvest and process each animal in its natural habitat, keeping our environmental footprint to a minimum.  Our supply chain is tightly controlled, and our products are never farmed, offering a more authentic and responsible alternative to mass-produced meats.

At The Scottish Venison Company, we stand for authenticity, purity, inspiration, and education, bringing premium Scottish Wild Venison to your kitchen with respect for nature and a passion for quality.

Every chef that I have met while growing up & working in the food industry has recognised how special it is, from the unique supply chain to the finished product on the plate. I’m delighted that we no longer only recognise the eating quality of Scottish Wild Venison but also its low environmental impact, sustainability and numerous health benefits.  I love that more people are recognising how seriously tasty venison is!”.
